The rain poured heavily upon the two elves and panic arose within Nydia. The beautiful, white mare's coat had been tainted by the mud the rain had created. The drops stung her face due to the fact the speed her horses had been running, was fast. She raced upon her white mare as another horse's reins were held tightly between her fingers. She felt helpless just being a horse keeper, so quickly, she tied their reins together and un tucked her bow from her slender shoulders. Nydia's left right hand rested upon her quiver, ready to draw an arrow.
She squinted to look into the trees, but her sister wasn't in sight. She heard another horse's gallop matching their horses' and she knew then, that her pursuers were close. She had more than one bandit after her. Perhaps Vierna was on their tracks, but this one got by.
The one who had been close to Nydia came into eye's view and so she had drawn an arrow and readied it on her bow. The hand holding the arrow rested on her cheek for support as she steadied herself on her galloping horse. Clear shot.
*Phewp*
The arrow shot right into the back of the man's head as he was thrown off his horse(shame he wasn‘t wearing a helmet). Nydia flinched as she heard the sickening crack of his skull when it made contact with a root, then run over by his own horse. “One down! How many more to go?” she called out to her invisible ally. The element of surprise was no longer an option. Also, it would be better if they knew her location, so the blond can take them down with a tug on her bow; simple as that.
There was no sign of slowing down, especially when her life was on the line. Vieran would not have it. Nydia tugged on the rein when she wished for the horse to take a sharp turn.
If her father hadn't acted foolishly, she would not have had her life threatened and forced into running and hiding. She didn't hate her father for it, she was just saddened she could no longer see him until all was safe.
