Name: Narin Kazuhiko (和彦)
Age: 22
Race: Human
Class: Vigilante
Height: 6 Foot 2 Inches
Weight: 195 Pounds
Hair: Black
Eye color: Crimson Red, originally Blue
Appearance and Apparel:
Narin's bodily frame is of a medium size. He is not overly muscular to the point where he could be compared to a beastly tank, or a juggernaught. Whilst this is the case Narin remains extremely defined and toned in a muscular sense and his muscle mass can be seen easily, even through his clothes. Height wise Narin is of average length for a human male, combined with his muscular mass he becomes quite the formidable opponent.
Narin has jet black hair which tends to be wild and spiked. His deep blue eyes have been replaced by a menacing and dark crimson red, which seem to pierce and feed on the souls of others. They act as an addition to Narin which changes his aura for the worst. His skin is of an olive complexion, and he retains a peachy colour to him. Spending most of his time in the scorching sun of day, battling he has managed to keep a relatively good tan to him.
Narin's clothing is generally made of light material which is easy to move in. He keeps his clothing of a dark color, matching his new found mood. The color allows him to sneak around at night, and remain relatively unseen in times of peace seeking. Further to his light clothing, he will wear a robe like garment over his clothes which acts as a sort of overcoat, keeping him warm and presentable in certain situations. Despite its look, his general appearance remains far from that of a monk, rather he looks like that of a knight to a noble family.
Personality: Narin is a man of many complex layers. His exterior shell is that of a very silent and independant man who likes to keep to himself. He can appear to be extremely selfish and shows little to no emotions at the best of times. His actions are on occassion ruthless and he will do whatever it takes to ensure justice is carried out, even if it means breaking his own morals.
Narin is driven by his nobility and his desire to see the world rid of evil. He is an extremist of chaotic good and can come across as evil due to his harsh ways of doing things. His soul has been corrupted by darkness, so much so to the point that his human emotions have been locked away inside him.
Past his rough and stoic exterior lies a man who is bound by a moral code, and will follow justice blindly. He is loyal to his friends and will help those in need, even if it costs him his life. The demon's of his past haunt him still, and he tends to punish himself by keeping his issues to himself and distancing himself from anyone.
Habits: Narin tends to keep himself aware, no matter where he is. He will always be looking for danger, or enemies to the point that he is almost paranoid.
On even the slightest sign of trouble his hand will grip tightly around the hilt of his weapon and he will keep watch on the unfolding situation.
His ability to sense fear in others means that whenever he smells fear, or the scent of anyone afraid he will stare at them unnervingly for quite some time. If he is injured, he will absorb that fear to heal himself.
Hobbies: Training, finding peaceful locations, sitting in quiet places.
Weapon: Narin's weapon is called the Shinruki and takes the form of a katana. Its blade is extremely sharp and tends to shimmer in a black and red hue as it absorbs the dark energy from inside him.
Magic or Abilities: Narin's entire body is corrupted by darkness. It has become the very essence of his life line, and without it his body will fail. It is more valuable to him than the blood that pumps through his veins. The darkness can increase his natural physical abilities to the point that he can move without the hindrance of gravity and he is able to control the darkness in any form he likes. He is able to fire it in the form of an energy blast, slash it at opponents like a sword or drop it like a boulder, as well as many other things.
Further to this, Narin has the ability to pick up on the scent of darkness, which can come from others fears, or thoughts of wrong doing. If he is able to smell the scent he can absorb it into himself by making physical contact with that person/thing. Absorbing darkness allows for Narin to become stronger, possibly learning new abilities, or in times where his combat high is not heightened, heal his wounds.
Fighting Style:
.::Fighting Style and Stances::.
::The Fighter's Equilibria Theory::
The Fighter's Equilibria Theory is Narin's own fighting style which he created. It is a unique system which combines both physical and mental ability with experience and knowledge. It is unique due to the fact that it is not a fighting style at all, rather, it is a complex collaboration of information which can ultimately allow for one to assess any kind of situation, be it inside of combat or outside and then adapt to that situation in a specific way. The Theory works in a 3 stage process. Stage One-The reviewing phase. Stage 2-The weakening phase and Stage 3-The finishing phase.
::Stage One::
Stage One of the Fighter's Equilibria Theory is also known as the "Reviewing" phase. In this vital stage Narin will take note of a number of different things. Firstly, he will take note of his environment, looking for dangers, escape points and objects and obstacles which can be used to his advantage. With this done he gains an advanced state of spacial awareness and can fight in an area as if it is his home.
Once this is done he will move onto his opponent. During the first few attacks within a fight, Narin will test his opponents abilities to the max, taking note of all of their physical and mental abilities and aspects. How strong they are, how fast they are, how much they suffer from pain and how good they are at blocking attacks. If this is done correctly Narin is able to pick up on the way in which his opponent fights, as one of these aspects will be weaker than the other and Narin will thusly be able to adapt his own fighting style to take advantage of this.
Once all of this is done, Narin becomes a deadly opponent whom is near impossible to defeat on a mental level and the opponent will no doubt be aware of this, inducing a state of fear into them and thusly effecting their fighting capabilities further more. After all of this is done, Narin is able to move onto Stage two.
::Stage Two::
Stage two is also known as the "Weakening" stage. At this point of the fight, Narin will already have picked up on the very way in which his opponent fights. He will have collected a wide range of data on his opponent both mentally and physically and will have also picked up on whether his opponent already has weak points due to past injuries. With this, his main aim in Stage two is to weaken his opponent and crush their stamina.
As he attacks vital points of his opponents person, limbs and other areas, they will begin to wear down. The repeated attacks on weakened areas has a doubly crippling effect on both their mental and physical being. As every punch lands on their weak points, their nervous system will begin to shut down, sending neural messages to the brain as a side effect to the pain, thusly reducing their response abilities and times until the point comes that they are no longer able to fight at full capacy. Stage 3 can begin.
At a glance, stage two serves two purposes. To attack existing weak points and to create weak points if none exist already, be it permamant or none permanant. Another aim of this stage is to wear the opponent down in preparation for Stage 3, the final stage of a fight. It can also be used as a secondary review stage, to pick up on information which will possibly, but not likely to have been missed during stage one.
::Stage Three::
Stage three is also known as the "Finishing" phase. It is the final part of a fight and at this point, his opponent is close to being finished off. If Narin is able to reach this stage, it means that he is above his opponent in skill and that his opponent is near to being finished off. During this stage there is nothing left to do other than to keep fighting to finish his opponent off by use of all of his combined skills and knowledge. It is possible for both stage one and stage two to be combined but it is very rare that this will happen.
::The Origins::
The Fighter's Equilibria Theory developed from a fighting term which Narin became aware of in his Junior years within his clan. During fights he noticed that the very first attack within a fight would never, or very rarely hit the opponent, however as the fight progressed punches would hit more frequently. It was a term Narin called "The Fighter's Equilibrium" or fighting balance in other words. From this, Narin developed the complete Theory through his experience and previous fighting ability.
::General Style::
Putting aside the Fighter's Equilbria Theory as Narin's fighting style, Narin has no experience in mainstream martial arts. He is nothing more than a brawler who makes up for his lack of fighting knowledge by stealing and copying skills and attacks he has seen in his life, be it by his opponents or from other sources. With this, he builds up a complex web of attacks which he personalises and masters before using, allowing him a vast arsenal of attacks which is ever growing. This has been adapted over the many years Narin has spent fighting, which has made him wise in his knowledge and a hard opponent to fight against. In otherwords, he is much like a sponge, soaking up attacks and abilities like water.
::Neural Involvement::
The Fighter's Equilibria doesn't simple involve physical ability and status, it uses mental states as a vital part of its existence. With this, Narin has become aware that during a fight, ability can be effected both by mental states and Neural stamina as a side parting to how weakened and injured the body is.
::Mental states::
During a fight, there are a number of different states the mind can be in. Each of these states can have a different effect on the fighting ability and portrays a different percentage level of fighting capabilities. Narin will also pick up on this during stage one of the Equilibria Theory. They work as follows.
Emotionless: [100%] The mind is not effected by emotion and thusly the mind is only focused on the fight currently ensuing. In this stage, there are no barriers to focus or concentration and the fighter is able to fight without and clouded judgement or abilities.
Joyfull: [95%] The mind is in a state of natural happiness and wants to win the fight. In this case, you may suffer from cockiness, meaning you will underestimate your opponent to the point where you are mistakedly hit by his or her attacks.
Angry:[50%] The mind is clouder by anger and the mind is only focused on landing blows to the opponent. In this case, logical thinking is replaced with brute force attacks which can easily be blocked, countered or evaded by an opponent in a higher percentage state than yourself.
Sad: [50/25%] Depending on whether this state is accompanied by another, your mind is in a state of sadness, to which depression and a lack of motivation and will is present. You will either intentionally allow for your opponent to hit you, or you will not be fully focused on defence, thusly allowing for attacks to hit without consent.
.::Stances::.
Over the years, Narin has developed and progressed the Fighter's Equilibria Theory with the help of combat stances. In total, there are three stances which he will use in a fight situation, however each one is adapted into different states depending on the situation itself.
::AD Stance::
This is the most common stance anyone will see Narin in. It is the stance he used when he originally started fighting years ago and those from 4 years ago will recognise it well.
In this stance, Narin is positioned in a well defensive position where he can evade, counter, block and attack. He will start a fight with this stance in mind due to the "Who goes first" effect within a fight.
Within this stance, his left hand is positioned, open handed in front of his torso to protect all of his upper body. His right will be positioned by his lower stomach to protect his lower body and both arms will remain with a constant bounce, ready to reposition or be put to use at the slightest sign by his opponent. His legs will be positioned, roughly shoulder width apart, slight bend and himself bouncing up and down on the ball of his feet to enable easy and efficient movement should the need arise.
This stance "AD" [Aggressive, Defensive] is often used in most situations. Whilst being both aggressive and defensive, its main purpose is to allow attacks to be performed whilst retaining some protection to the body. As well as this, there is also "Semi AD stance." which is used when Narin is attacking with a singular limb, or performing an attack which can allow for some defence to be retained. In this case, his free limbs will have the purpose of defending his body as best as they can.
Combat High: As Narin progresses into combat, his mental state begins to deteriariate. He gradually begins to lose his control, allowing for his more violent side to come out. This is known to him as combat high. In combat high mode Narin begins to think less clearly and he thus loses some of the abilities he would otherwise be able to use. To compensate for this his darkness forms a sort of thin armour in his vital energy points, increasing his strength and slightly improving his defense. Should this be the case it is a sign that he is very close to the end of his fighting limits and will soon either pass out, or die. It is a last resort of sorts.
History: Narin was born to a noble and famous clan known as the Kazuhiko clan. The family were rich and noble business men and lords, existing for hundreds of years. Having close ties with the Royal Families and other lords of the lands they grew in power, wealth and fame to the point that they themselves were deemed Royal blood.
Narin's life was disciplined, he was taught the ways of the sword from an early age, his combat abilities honed and his mind trained through meditation and education. He was the youngest of his family, yet considered to be a prodigy within it.
